Gone Fishing was established by Gordon Petersen in 1996. New owner, Maarten Van de Meeberg is carrying on the tradition of great fishing safaris.

When Gordon established the business, no-one had heard of half day reef fishing trips, but Gordon having a wealth of knowledge in reef and game fishing decided to establish this cheaper market, but to do this he knew the boats must cruise at a minimum of 20 knots.

Gone Fishing now have the fastest fleet of charter boats on the Gold Coast.

Gone Fishing customers have been returning and insisting on full days as they have had such a good time on the half days therefore Gone Fishing is now running full days!

Gone Fishing boats have caught more big fish than any other charter boat or charter boat company on the Gold Coast over the last seven years.

They pioneered their method of fishing on the Gold Coast. They anchor the vessel and fish the bottom in 18 to 30 fathoms. They burley and float live baits out from the boat, so you can catch all those good eating fish pelage's like Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Mackerel, Cobia, Amberjack and Mai Mai which have all been caught.

Gone Fishing also does calm water fishing targeting all those estuary fish like Jewfish, Mangrove Jack, Flathead and Trevally.

They operate seven days a week weather permitting and their courtesy bus is air-conditioned.
